The volunteers at Lough Swilly RNLI this morning performed their first rescue of the New Year.
They were tasked shortly after 10.30am by Malin Head Coast Guard to come to the assistance of a small fishing vessel.
The boat had lost power after a rope got caught-up on its prop. The crew established a tow and took the boat to Rathmullan before returning to Buncrana to refuel and make ready for service.

Remember, if you’re in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.
