Finn Valley AC took team gold in both the Intermediate Women and the Masters Women events at the Ulster Intermediate and Masters Cross Country Championships in Carndonagh today.
in the Intermediate race, Stacey Leonard led the way for her club, finishing in 16:31, 14 seconds ahead of Milford AC’s Gillian Murphy.
Joanne Campbell was in third, with Brigeen Dolan 5th and Maggie O’Hara 6th.
The Finn Valley Masters Women were spearheaded by strong individual performances from Leoni Cooke who finished 2nd in 15:26, six seconds ahead of her teammate Teresa Doherty in third.
Kay Byrne was 10th in 18:05, with Joanne McNabb finishing 12th in 18:20 to give the team a score of 27. Rosses AC’s Fionnuala Diver finished fourth.
Inishowen AC took silver in the Masters Men event, with Pauric McKinney first to cross the finish line for their team, finishing in 7th with a time of 28:53. David Porter (12th), Martin McLucas (16th) and Liam Bradley (17th) rounded out the scorers.
In the Intermediate Men’s race, Shea carlin of Finn Valley was 8th in 28:55, while teammates Darren Toland and Ryan Porter were 16th and 20th respectively.
Dale Corbett of Letterkenny AC was 13th.
