Enda McFeely will take charge of his first Allianz League game when he referees the match between Leitrim and Waterford.
The St. Mary’s Convoy clubman will be the man in the middle this Sunday in Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada, Carrick-On-Shannon in the Division 4 game.
In November, McFeely was named in the GAA Referees’ National Panel for 2023, and has taken charge of Donegal SFC finals and the Ulster U20 Championship final between Tyrone and Cavan last year.
Referee’s in Donegal have been taking a more prominent role in officiating big games, with Siobhán Coyle of Gaeil Fhánada taking charge of the All-Ireland Intermediate Ladies Final between Laois and Wexford last year.
Monaghan native Maggie Farrelly, who is a Glenfin clubwoman, became the first female to take charge of a men’s match, doing so in the 2022 campaign when she officiated the Division 4 game between between Leitrim and London, while she also took charge of her take charge of her second senior final between Meath and Kerry.
