A group of handy west Donegal girls are claiming the record for Ireland’s tallest snowman.
The current record stands at 10 ft 2 inches, however, their ‘Daniel’ from Dungloe is a lofty 12ft 1”!
“We hit the new record of a massive 12 ft 1 inch. This took us over seven hours of hard work to construct,” chief builder, Ruby McBride, told Donegal Daily.
“It fell down, but we all got him back up again and pushed harder and further to reach this record. We would love for our work to get the recognition it deserves.”
With the cold snap expected to last until Thursday, the girls hope Big Daniel will still be standing on Friday morning.
The champion construction team (below) was made up of Sophia Sweeney, Erin ODonnell, Ruby McBride, Amy Timoney, Ella McBride and Isabella Sweeney.
