Gardai say they have stood down the search for a missing Donegal woman.
It follows the discovery of the remains of a woman’s body.
21-year-old Daena Tighe had been missing after she was last seen on Friday last, January 6th.
Yesterday Gardai reissued their appeal for any sightings of Daena asking the public to check outbuildings and sheds for the missing woman.
However, a Garda spokesperson confirmed a short time ago “Following the discovery of a woman’s body earlier today Tuesday 10th January, 2023 the missing person appeal in respect of 21 year-old Daena Tighe, has been stood down.
“We would like to thank the public and media for their assistance in this matter.”
No further details have been released at this stage.
