Roma McLaughlin has signed an 18 month professional contract with Danish club Fortuna Hjorring.
McLaughlin, from Greencastle, has been playing in the United States for the last four years with Central Connecticut State University and Connecticut Fusion.
Roma was recalled to Vera Pauw’s Republic of Ireland squad in 2022 and will be hoping her move to the side third in the Kvindeligaen will help her chances of making the squad that made their first ever World Cup, when they travel to Australia for the 2023 World Cup in July.
Before her move to the States, McLaughlin played in Donegal with Greencastle FC and Moville Celtic before joining Sion Swifts.
She also won the Women’s National League Young Player of the Year in 2015 with Peamount United before joining Shelbourne.
