Veteran goalkeeper Declan McIntyre has been confirmed as the new Donegal senior team’s goalkeeping coach.
The Donegal Town man recently left his role as coach with Derry City.
But Donegal wasted no time in snapping up McIntyre who has lived in Letterkenny for many years.
McIntyre has plied his trade as a soccer goalkeeper and coach for most of his career with numerous clubs including Finn Harps, Sligo Rovers and also within the FAI.
However, it is his wealth of experience and personality which has attracted new Donegal manager Paddy Carr to taking on McIntyre’s services.
McIntyre has already started in his position and has been working closely with four goalkeepers on the Donegal squad including the county number one Shaun Patton.
Carr will be in the dugout for his first official game this Sunday when Donegal face Down in the McKenna Cup at Pairc Esler in Newry with a throw-in time of 1.30pm.
