Two local mental health advocates have successfully led 12 climbs up Errigal in 12 months in aid of Pieta House.

Brendan Goyvaerts and his friend Charlie Doherty (main pic) have been organising group treks of Donegal’s highest peak over the past year.

Yesterday, they completed their 12th and final climb of 2022.

“Over the last 12 months, we have raised over €2,500 through Facebook fundraising pages and enjoyed climbs in rain, hail or shine,” Brendan told Donegal Daily.

“We were spoiled with amazing views today in the snow. We will continue with something similar next year, with the main aim of getting people out that may be in a bad place and who would benefit from outdoor activities.”

He concluded by thanking everyone who climbed or donated throughout the year.

A spectacular view from high up on Errigal.
