Sean McGinley helped Ireland U20s to silver at the European Cross Country Championships in Italy.
The Finn Valley AC athlete finished in 12th place and was the third counter on the Ireland team, who finished on 17 points, well clear of Spain in third with 30 points, while GB & NI took gold on 10 points.
McGinley, who has won National Junior Men’s titles, crossed the line in 18:14 to ensure a brilliant silver for the country, with Nick Griggs finishing in 2nd and Dean Casey coming 3rd.
Ireland took three team medals in total at the Championships, with the U23 Men taking bronze, as well as the Senior Women, led home by Finn Valley AC twins Eilish and Roisin Flanagan at Mandria Park in Turin.
