Eilish and Roisin Flanagan guided Ireland to the bronze medal in the Senior Women’s race at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Italy.
The Finn Valley pair were the first two counters for the Irish team as Eilish finished in 11th place and Roisin was in 12th in 27:38 at Mandria Park in Turin.
Mary Mulhare of Portlaoise AC was the third and final counter for the team as she came home in 27th to give Ireland a score of 50, beating Spain to third place by five points.
Letterkenny AC’s Ann Marie McGlynn was in 31st, finishing in 28:40.
It was a brilliant feat for Ireland who were without European silver medalist Ciara Mageean after she withdrew last week due to illness, and was replaced by Eilish Flanagan.
