A 21-year-old leisure centre worker has been put off the road after being caught drug-driving.
Brent Magwood was stopped by Garda Kilcoyne, who was on mobile patrol, at Raymoghey, Letterkenny at 1.31pm on June 13, 2021.
Garda Kilcoyne noticed that Magwood’s eyes were glazed and a subsequent test confirmed that the driver was under the influence of cannabis.
Sergeant Jim Collins said Magwood, from Craigavon in County Armagh, was ‘fully co-operative’ on the day in question.
Solicitor for Magwood, Mr Frank Dorrian, said his client resides at home and works in a leisure centre.
“He has no previous and understands the inevitable nature of the charge,” Mr Dorrian said.
Judge Éiteáin Cunningham fined Magwood €200, giving him five months to pay, and disqualified him from driving for one year.
