Residents and people with a connection to Anagaire are invited to share their views on the future development of the village.
A project is underway to seek people’s ideas for the improvement of life in the village, from footpaths to parks to health centres and more.
The ‘health check’ empowers the local community to share their vision.
People are being asked to take part in an online survey or visit one of two drop-in sessions on Friday 9th December (details below). This brief survey is being carried out by Paul Doherty Architects (Donegal Town) on behalf of Annagry Tidy Towns & Donegal County Council. The responces will be used to inform the Anagaire Health Check and identify strengths and weakness, as they are seen by local members of the community, visitors and other key stakeholders.

Local councillor Micheal Mac Giolla Easbuig said this is an exciting opportunity for people to put forward their comments on local services and infrastructure.
“We want to look at how to make the village better and look at what we have already and to get the views of the public in terms of how we would like to see the village develop and progress forward,” Cllr Mac Giolla Easbuig said.
“For example, people would love to see a walkway connecting Anagaire, Mín na Leice, Rann na Feirste, Loch an Iúir, Mullach Dubh, Croithlí, An Bhráid and Carraig Fhinne. A footpath to the airport is crucial.
“People would love to see the development of the town centre village to the car park, and a promenade linking from the bay.
“We also badly need a proper state-of-the-art health centre, a play area and a youth centre have all been talked about.”
Cllr Mac Giolla Easbuig said the findings of the surveys will be compiled to put Anagaire in a position to apply for funding under the town and village renewal scheme.
“Every mile starts with a step and something that seems like a big ask could be funded in the future,” Cllr Mac Giolla Easbuig said.
He thanked Cllr Noreen McGarvey, Donegal County Council and the Tidy Towns committee for their work on the project as well as James McDevitt of Caislean Oir.
