Finn Harps chairman Ian Harkin said the similar vision and the experience of Dave Rogers made it easier for the Harps board to appoint the new manager.
Rogers was announced yesterday as the new manager on a four-year contract, as the board and manager both share a long term vision for the future of the club.
And Harkin was impressed by what he described as a phenomenal interview on their first meet.
The chairman said: “What we’ve got now is someone who’s going to be here day in, day out delivering or plan for the club in terms of the footballing style, the pathway for players, everything we’ve been looking forward to for the next phase of Finn Harps.
“We’ve had over 50 CVs in this process, Dave’s presentation when we first interviewed him was phenomenal, you can see it here today the drive and the passion and the excitement he has for it.
“Out of all the candidates we had he’s had the most amount of experience in our league and the most amount of experience in academies and developing players, the drive he has in terms of his vision for our club as much as our own, they’re so interlinked, with bringing Finn Harps back into the Premier Division.”
Harkin stressed the importance of the fans support in buying season tickets and joining the 500 club, and with the early bird offers for season tickets ending tomorrow, now is the perfect time to commit to backing Rogers and the team for 2023.
Also, for the first time season tickets ordered before 4th December 2020 will have their Season Ticket Cards available for collection in time to get them in those Christmas stockings. Orders after that date will receive a stylish E-Voucher which also makes a great last minute gift which can be bought HERE.
Harkin added: “Last year we had the €5 season tickets for kids and the interest was phenomenal and that’s what we need back at or club.
“The season tickets and the 500 club is what allows us to go out and budget for the season.
There’s so many variables in football and if you can take those away by committing to a season ticket or if you can with the 500 club it makes our job so much easier and Dave’s job so much easier.”
