Christmas
Several events are going on in our area this December, and as we hear about more, we will let you know.
Here is a timetable of Events:
Saturday 3 rd December: Time for Cake, Dunkineely Methodist Hall at 10am to 2pm.
Wednesday 7 th December: Movie Night, MacLoughlin’s Bar at 7pm.
Friday 9 th December: Christmas Market, Bruckless NS at 11am to 1pm.
Saturday 10 th December: DCL Christmas Event, Dunkineely at 6pm.
Tuesday 13 th December: Killaghtee NS Annual Service, Dunkineely Methodist Church at 7pm.
Time For Cake
Join in from 10am to 2pm at the Dunkineely Methodist Hall for Christmas treats and cakes. Everyone is welcome. Proceeds to the Church.
Movie Night
DCL presents Elf the Movie, starring Will Farrell.
Come and join us for a relaxed evening of entertainment and fun.
7pm in MacLoughlin’s, Dunkineely. €5 per adult, children are €3 or €5 for two.
Snacks will be provided and there is a raffle on the night.
Children must be accompanied. Proceeds will go to Dunkineely Christmas lights and other local DCL projects to help the area.
Christmas Market
Bruckless National School presents their first Christmas craft fair and coffee morning.
Taking place on 9 th December 11am to 1pm.
A selection of handmade crafts will be available for sale, with proceeds going to the school Development Fund.
Donations will also be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.
Christmas Event
Join us on 10 th December at 6pm for our big Christmas Event.
Meet Santa, sing some carols and have a mince pie, while we say Happy Christmas and take in the Dunkineely Lights.
Meet us in the Centre of Town.
As always, every year local volunteers donate time, electricity and trees to the Dunkineely Christmas Lights. Collection tins for this year’s lights can be found in local pubs and the Mace.
Killaghtee NS
Killaghtee N.S. are holding their Annual Christmas Service on Tuesday 13th December at 7.00pm in the Dunkineely Methodist Church.
The pupils conduct all parts of the Service – after much hard work and preparation, and they invite everyone to join with them on the night.
The collection this year will be in aid of the Killaghtee N.S. School Fund.
Church Services
Church of Ireland: Services in Killaghtee will be held at 10:45 on 4 th December, with Rev Mervyn Peoples.
Christmas Day services will take place at 9:15am in Killybegs, 10:45am in Inver and 12 noon in Mountcharles.
There will be no service in Killaghtee. Rev Mervyn Peoples will conduct the services.
There may also be a service on Christmas Eve and Carol services are likely to take place on 11 th or 18 th December.
Methodist Church: Normal Sunday Services will be held at 10:30am in Dunkineely and 12 noon in
Ardara. Please note the change in times.

Catholic Church: Mass will be held at the normal times. Mass can also be viewed on the Bruckless Church – St Joseph and St Conal’s Facebook page.
Eucharistic Adoration is on Friday from 11am to 3pm, and on Sunday from 3pm to 4pm.
Confession can be heard before weekend Masses or arrange a time by contacting Fr Brady at the Parochial House (074 973 7015).
Christmas services will include a Christmas Eve Mass at 9pm and the Christmas Day service at 11am.
The late Anna Dorrian
The death has occurred of Anna Dorrian, Rahanlacky, Dunkineely, peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Killybegs Community Hospital.
Predeceased by her sister Bridie, brothers William, Patrick and Conal. Sadly missed by her brother Thomas, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Funeral Mass was on Thursday at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Dunkineely Celtic FC
Matches: Dunkineely Celtic lost to Lagan Harps but scored four goals at home, on 27 th November.
The final score was 4-8.
The next match is at home versus Ballybofey United at home, on 4 th December at 1pm.
Lottery: Dunkineely Celtic Lotto results for Sunday 20 th November were 9, 17, 18, 19.
There was no Jackpot winner. Consolation prizes of €20 each went to Caoimhín O’Neill, Patricia McGuire and Adam Duddy.
The Jackpot is now at €1,220. Many thanks for your continued support.
Naomh Ultan
Naomh Ultan have now finished up their underage games for 2022 which was a very good season with loads of football played by the excellent young players of the club.
We would like to wish our minors who are stepping up to adult football next year the very best of luck.
Thanks to the 2022 Bord Na nÓg officers and board members and all of the coaches and volunteers who put in a massive effort all year. The board or underage teams couldn’t function without the time and commitment put in.

Royal Flush Lotto: Lotto results for 27/11/2022 were 1, 11, 12, 16.
There was no winner of the jackpot, consolation prizes went to Seanie Shovlin, Kathleen Breslin and White Children.
