Setanta had to come from behind to beat Shane Uí Néill, who went in 0-10 to 0-8 ahead at the break with the aid of a breeze, but Setanta fought back and went ahead for the first time in the 48th minute.
Davin Flynn scored a brilliant 1-7 from play, while Declan Coulter’s 0-10 points ensured the victory with a scoreline of 1-22 to 0-15.

Meanwhile, the second game of the day saw Dungloe defeated by Galbally Pearse’s of Tyrone.
Galbally also started on the front foot with the breeze and went in seven points clear at half-time.
Dungloe looked to mount a comeback but a fortunate goal for Galbally had them nine points down.
They closed the gap to five by full time and had Oisin Bonner’s strike off the crossbar went into the net just before added time, we could have been in for an interesting ending but Galbally ran out 1-12 to 0-10 winners.
