Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Garden Centre Supervisor to join a busy team in our Homeland Store Letterkenny.
Reporting to the Homeland Store Manager. You will be essential to the success of the Store. We require a responsible and enthusiastic person with a love of gardening to work in our Garden Centre, handling a wide range of products.
The successful person must be able to work on their own but also work as part of a team. Consistently delivering excellent customer service whilst merchandising stock, creating powerful displays and maintaining the Garden Centre to the highest possible standard.
Key Responsibilities
• To provide a professional, friendly and efficient service to the Garden Centre’s customers, understanding their needs and requirements.
• Maintaining the highest standards of store presentation and cleanliness including shop floor, garden centre and display areas
• Developing a relationship with nurseries / garden suppliers to avail of constantly changing seasonal offering and trends
• Delivering sales growth and achieving sales targets
• Lead the Garden Centre Team
• Plant husbandry and maintenance
• Delivering excellent customer service to all customers
• Merchandising stock & creating powerful displays
• Maintain stock control to ensure fresh offering to customers
• Maintain & continuously develop excellent levels of product knowledge
• Managing point of sale processes, including cash, card and credit transactions
• Comply with health & safety regulations
• Flexibility to provide support to all areas of the store
The ideal candidate will have
• Will be able to demonstrate a love of gardening and a good general knowledge of gardening industry
• A qualification in Horticulture in would be advantageous not essential
• Work well as part of a close-knit team
• Must be able to build and maintain customer relationships, delivering an excellent
customer experience.
• The ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team
• Excellent customer focus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and good attention to detail
