Donegal captain Niamh McLaughlin has been nominated for the 2022 TG4 Senior Players’ Player of the Year while five other Donegal players have been nominated for an All-Star Award.
McLaughlin is on a three player shortlist with Meath star Emma Duggan and Kerry’s Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh.
McLaughlin led Donegal to both the Division 1 National Football League final and the All-Ireland semi-final but lost out on both occasions to Meath and in both games, Maxi Curran’s side fell short by two points.
The Moville woman would be the first Donegal player to ever win the award if she was to win.
The winner will be revealed at an awards banquet at The Bonnington Hotel on Saturday, 19 November.
McLaughlin is one of six Donegal players nominated for an All-Star Award for the 2022 season.
Her fellow Moville club mate Niamh Hegarty, Termon trio Geraldine McLaughlin, Nicole McLaughlin and Evelyn McGinley, and Robert Emmet’s Tanya Kennedy.
