The extension project for Moville Community College has received approval from the Minister for Education to proceed to construction stage under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.
The project will consist of a new build extension to the current school to include special educational classrooms.
The Minister commented: “This is an important step forward for the project and good news for the school community and will improve the offering and services of the school. I thank Minister Norma Foley for confirming the news and for the work of the ETB, principal, staff, students and parents of the schools for progressing the project.
“Donegal Education and Training Board will now work to also finalise the tendering process for appointment of a mechanical contractor and electrical contractor to work with the main contractor.
“Once all three contracts are in place, the project will be in a position to move to on site construction. I will continue to work with the school and Donegal ETB to ensure that the project progresses from here in the quickest timeframe possible,” concluded Minister McConalogue.
