Nine people have died in the Creeslough service station explosion, it has been confirmed.
Two further fatalities were confirmed at noon this Saturday.
A further eight injured victims are being treated in hospitals.
Dr Paul Stewart, the local GP, said the impact of this tragedy will be felt for years.
Dr Stewart told RTE Radio One: “There is going to be heartbroken families. We’re going to be dealing with this for years really. It’s one of the biggest tragedies I think we’ve had in Donegal, and God knows we’ve had a few.”
Emergency services are continuing to work on the search and recovery operation at the blast site.
Counselling and support services are being offered for all in the community. St. Michael’s church is open for prayers and Scoil Mhuire and Creeslough Health Centre are also open for community support.
A multi-agency emergency services operation has been ongoing since the devastating explosion on Friday afternoon.
An Garda Síochána continue to request that any road users intending to travel to the Creeslough area for any reason consider alternative routes.
