Singing superstar Daniel O’Donnell is stepping into a surprising new role as an actor in an upcoming horror video.
Details have been unveiled for Daniel’s new Halloween-themed video, called ‘The Night of the Daniels‘.
The thrilling short, filmed in Dungloe, will be released on 28th October just in time for Halloween.
Few would expect the soft-spoken country singer to be going down the horror route, but the success of his viral ‘Down at the Lah De Dah’ video saw him back in action with Donegal filmmakers Re-Act Productions. Social media was buzzing back in August when footage of a stuntman on fire was recorded on Main Street Dungloe.
The plot of the Halloween adventure, according to RTE News, puts Daniel in the hero role when Dungloe comes under attack.
With more details coming to light this week, bookmaker Ladbrokes has today opened the betting on the country crooner winning an Irish Film and Television Award (IFTA) for his efforts. Daniel is tipped as an outsider bet with his odds currently at 20/1 to clench the Best Actor gong.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes, said: “Daniel O’Donnell’s acting debut in none other than a Halloween thriller is sure to divide opinion, but it seems some punters think he might just have what it takes to break onto the film scene as we have already seen interest in ‘Night of the Daniel’s winning an IFTA!”
