Letterkenny’s popular health food cafe Wholegreen has changed ownership, it has been confirmed.
Customers will be glad to know that the business is staying open as it changes hands from founder Anna Good to Michael and Mary Black.
The Letterkenny couple unveiled the news about their new venture on Friday evening.
Both well established in business and in sport, Michael and Mary said they were “really excited to be taking over a business that Anna and her team built up over the past 7 years & became a huge part of so many of your daily lives.”
“All going to plan we hope to be back opened in the next 4-5 weeks & really looking forward to welcoming everyone (old & new) into Wholegreen.”
Wholegreen will soon be going from strength to strength as the Blacks build on the unique cafe community created by Anna Good.
Anna, a Dublin native, and her husband Paul, from Letterkenny, first opened Wholegreen in 2016 to share their passion for clean, healthy food with the people of Donegal. The cafe has been a go-to place for those who follow a vegan diet and enjoy fresh, feel-good food.
In 2020 the couple converted half of the cafe into Donegal’s first ‘zero waste’ shop with a sustainable concept of no packaging, reusing and recycling.
Last month, Anna announced that she was putting the business up for sale for personal reasons, citing burnout as the main reason for her difficult decision.
But it wasn’t long after closing that Anna had the good news to share that Wholegreen had found new owners. The social media channels have now been officially handed over to Michael and Mary.
Customers can look forward to updates on the reopening of Wholegreen in the near future.
