Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal T.D., Charlie McConalogue, confirmed that he has approved a request from Donegal County Council for an additional €4.6m to complete the Greencastle Breakwater project.

The Minister confirmed approval for this funding request. The closing date for applications for the second tranche of the scheme is 30th September 2022. The Scheme funds publicly owned marine infrastructure and is being funded under the EU Brexit Adjustment Reserve (BAR).
Commenting, Minister McConalogue said: “The Greencastle Breakwater project is a game changer for the North West and will give a significant boost to Inishowen. It is tremendous that the project is progressing and I am delighted to support it”.
