Dylan Browne McMonagle completed a 29/1 double, including a listed race win, at Cork yesterday.
The Letterkenny jockey enjoyed a successful outing at the Cork meet, placing in the only other ride he had, before winning on Statement.
Browne McMonagle won the Navigation Stakes (Listed Race) on the 10/3 shot by a neck from Monaasib.
The duo lead from early on in the one mile race and were unable to be pegged back and despite being run close, held on to win for trainer Joseph O’Brien.
And the Donegal man continued his good form in his third and final race of the day to win for trainer Patrick Martin.
On 6/1 shot Indiana Grey, Browne McMonagle sat in the pack in the one mile handicap before getting to work two furlongs out and taking the lead to win by half a length from 9/2 favourite Skontonovski.
And on the winning rider, trainer Martin said: “We are looking at a very good jockey and a special talent.”
Meanwhile, in the final race of the day, Luke McAteer took the win for Pat Murphy.
On 8/1 shot Lucky Queen, the Rathmullan native led from three out, and held on to win by half a length from 11/2 favourite Miracles in May.
