Members of the Kranthi cultural organisation in Letterkenny were out in force yesterday to launch their ‘think global, buy local’ campaign.
Kranthi Ireland, a cultural and political association for Indians in Ireland, is encouraging people to support local businesses and produce.
The idea underpinning this campaign is the global struggle of small businesses especially in the retail sector due the impact of giant multinational corporates where the market share of small scale businesses has been ebbing away.
In Letterkenny, members held a demonstration at a local fruit and vegetable seller’s to highlight the benefits of supporting small retail businesses.
