Donegal County Council is moving further forward with plans to tender for the construction of 45 new social housing units in Dungloe.
The site for the proposed development at Chapel Road is being cleared this month to make way for an archaeological investigation. The council has appointed an Archaeologist to excavate archaeological trenches on site.
An asbestos survey has been tendered for the existing dwellings on site. Two cottages and outbuildings are due to be demolished to make way for the development which will encompass four 1-bed apartments, twenty 2-bed apartments, seven 2 bed dwellings, ten 3-bed dwellings and four 4-bed dwellings. The development will include landscaping, a new access road, a pumping station and associated works.
An update from Donegal County Council on the project said that a Quantity Surveying Consultant has been appointed.
The Civil and Structural Engineer and the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering consultants have been tendered and their appointments are underway.
Detailed Design / Tender / Fire Cert and Disabled Access Certification preparation is ongoing.
