Superstar Garth Brooks has been gracing the Croke Park stage all weekend, but this week he’ll also be gracing our TV screens in the documentary ‘Garth Brooks: Coming Home’.
The film explores the country star’s special relationship with Ireland as he ends his stadium world tour with five massive nights in Croke Park. The unprecedented number of performances highlighted the performer’s popularity in Ireland and if you attended one of the recent shows, it’s a documentary that will bring back all the memories again.
Garth Brooks: Coming Home airs on Tuesday night at 9pm on Virgin Media One and Virgin Media Player.
This Virgin Media News documentary explores the career of Garth Brooks and his love affair with Ireland. Paul Quinn travels to Baton Rouge to catch up with the stadium tour before it arrives on Irish shores and in Nashville, meets with songwriters and musicians who worked with the country star on some of his biggest hits.
Over the next decade he became one of country music’s biggest stars but surprisingly, it’s across the Atlantic where he found his most devoted and passionate fans, and a home away from home, in Ireland.
From his failed Chris Gaines experiment in 1999 and his ill-fated Croke Park shows in 2014, Garth Brooks’ career hasn’t been without its challenges, but in 2022 he’s ending his touring career where he feels most at home, here in Ireland.
