There were scenes of jubilation and excitement in Errigal College, Letterkenny, yesterday as students received their Leaving Certificate results.
With students sitting an altered exam in most subjects, this proved to be a challenging year to navigate the exam with many students having experienced remote learning over the last two years.
Students began to trickle into the school from 11 am to access their results and print them out with help and guidance from their Career Guidance teachers, Ms McGowan and Ms McLaughlin.
Many students were beaming from ear to ear with excitement, accomplishment and the sense of having realised their potential with many students receiving well over the 500 points mark.
Julia Blaszczok, who received four H1s, was pleased with her results and hopes to progress to study primary school teaching in DCU.
Wiktor Krys was also happy with his results, and hopes to move on to ATU Letterkenny to study his passion, computing.
Students were also reminded of their options with many courses and alternative routes to achieving their education goals.
Further education, trades and post Leaving Certificate courses have proved incredibly popular and continue to provide an important link between second level and third level.
Principal, Mr McFadden, was delighted with the results this year.
“This is down to the hard work of our students and the support of our teachers here in Errigal College,” he said.
“Students’ families have also been an integral part of their success and their support network over the last number of years. I wish them nothing but the best for their next step, knowing that they have not only the qualifications but also the confidence to navigate their next step in life.”
