Any team which has a player who finishes with a personal tally of 1-10 usually comes on the right side of any scoreline.
And that was the case today for Kilcar who easily overcame the challenge of Ardara at Towney today.
Patrick McBrearty, often the hero for Kilcar in the past, was the hero again as he notched up this fine personal scoreline.
Kilcar finished up 2-23 to 1-12 winners against an Ardara side who appear to be struggling during this Michael Murphy Sports SFC campaign.
This latest win gives Conor Cunningham’s men three wins from three outings and put them top of the table and a guaranteed quarter final spot.
As well as the sharp-shooting boot of McBrearty, five of Kilcar’s other points came form the unlikely boot of defender Ryan McShane.
Ardara certainly weren’t short of heart and they will always try to put it up to teams especially when they can boast players of the calibre of Conor Classon in their ranks.
The visitors went in four points adrift at the break on a scoreline of 0-11 to 0-7.
But Kilcar put the foot down in the second half, spurred on by a goal Gary Molloy.
The home side added further points through Mark McHugh and Stephen McBrearty as McBrearty found the net form the penalty spot after a foul on Conor Doherty.
The game was well over as a contest before referee Shane Toolan blew the final whistle.
Kilcar march on and, like many teams, Ardara were left only wish they had a player who could match McBrearty’s personally tally.
