There is great sadness in the Killybegs parish following news of the death of Mrs Maeve Murray.
Mrs Murray, of Fintra Road, passed away on Friday.
She was a revered member of the community, having worked as a District Nurse in Killybegs for 60 years. She was also a talented organist and a leading member of the choir at St. Mary of the Visitation Church, where she will be missed dearly.
Her legacy lies in the kindness she showed to every person who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born in Limerick, Maeve made Donegal her home but never forgot her roots.
Tributes to Maeve have celebrated her “beautiful soul” and remembered her as a “shining pillar of light in her community”.
Predeceased by her husband Georgie, she will be sadly missed by her sons Prionsias and John, daughters in law Roisin and Sinead, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements are as follows: Remains reposing at her residence from 8pm-10pm on Friday and from 11am-10pm on Saturday. Removal from her home on Sunday morning at 10.30am to St Mary of the Visitation Church, Killybegs for 11am funeral mass. Mass will be streamed live on www.mcnmedia.tv.
