Following consultation with the National Transport Authority and local representation received, Local Link has announced a series new term time routes that will begin in mid-September.
The new routes below are currently in the procurement process and services will commence no later than Monday the 19th of September 2022:
- Monday to Friday return service from Culdaff to Letterkenny – to arrive in Letterkenny @ 07:45. This is in addition to the existing Route 953, Moville to Letterkenny.
- Monday to Friday return service from Ballyshannon to Letterkenny – to arrive in Letterkenny @ 08.50am.
The new services are in response to the current accommodation crisis facing students attending ATU Letterkenny this autumn and will allow students and workers to arrive in Letterkenny before 9am.
These new services are in addition to the existing Local Link services which arrive in Letterkenny by 9am each morning:
- Route 271 – Burtonport to Letterkenny via Dunlewey / Churchill (3 return services per day)
- Route 300 – Fanad to Letterkenny via Rathmullan (3 return services per day)
- Route 989 – Carrigans to Letterkenny (3 return services per day)
- Route 953 – Moville to Letterkenny (3 return services per day)
- Route 987 – Lifford to Letterkenny (1 return service per day)
- Route 2340 – Cloghan to Letterkenny (1 return service per day)
- Route 290 – Ballybofey to Letterkenny (1 return service per day)
