Milford manager Pauric Curley knew his team were already in a dogfight after being at the wrong end of a 15 point losing margin against Kilcar last week.
St Michael’s, for their part, were determined to get a victory having shared the spoils with an impressive Sean Mac Cumhaill’s side in their opening game last week.
And despite home advantage for Milford at Moyle View Park, St Michael’s showed no mercy.
The visitors went in with a seven point advantage at the break on a scoreline of Milford 0-4 St Michael’s 0-11.
Andrew Kelly was the stand-out player for Michael’s with a personal tally of 1-4 – his goal coming in the second half.
A large crowd in Milford saw the home side get back to within six points of their opponents but Kelly’s goal ended the contest.
Carlos O’Reilly and Colin McFadden worked hard and were a constant threat for the visitors.
And when you have a player of the calibre of county star Michael Langan in your ranks then you’re always going to push on.
Milford simply didn’t have enough in their armoury and eventually went down on a scoreline of 1-17 to 0-7.
Milford face Killybegs next weekend in the hope of getting some points on the board while Michael’s have a mouth-watering tie with Naomh Conaill.
