Ann-Marie McGlynn finished in 29th in the women’s Marathon at the European Athletics Championships in Munich today.
The Letterkenny AC runner clocked a season’s best time of 2:38:26 as she was the second Irish runner home to help the team finish in 5th place.
Fionnuala McCormack was the first Irish runner to finish, as she was less than a minute off the winner in 7th place, also in a season’s best time, of 2:29:25. Aoife Cooke was 34th in 2:40:37.
The winner was Aleksandra Lisowska from Poland, seven seconds ahead of Matea Parlov Koštro of the Czech Republic, while Dutch athlete Nienke Brinkman was third.
Germany took the team gold, while Spain and Poland were second and third respectively.
