A great family day out is promised at the Buncrana Garda Station open day next week, where people can meet their local gardaí and find out all about their work.
The event takes place as part of the Centenary celebrations at Buncrana Garda Station on Sunday the 21st of August between 2pm and 5pm.
A variety of local and specialised Garda units will be displayed at the open day, including the Dog Unit, Mounted Unit, and Community Policing Unit. There will be station tours and a chance to see the variety of garda vehicles in use.
A sensory hour will take place between 1pm and 2pm during which time the lights and sirens will not be used.
A message from gardaí said: “Should anybody have any requests/requirements in order to be able to safely/comfortably attend the sensory hour then please let us know in advance and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. We hope to see you all there!”
