Greencastle Coast Guard hosted a successful cadet training last Saturday for children to learn about water safety and marine life through fun and games.
Over 300 children attended the programme that took place as part of Greencastle Regatta and Festival in the Greencastle Community Centre.
Through cadet training, participants tried out and learned about skills, such as CPR, throwing a life ring, teamwork, lifejackets, communication and water safety through exciting activities.
Once each of the circuit games were completed, each child became an official ‘Greencastle Unit Cadet’.
They will now be able to raise awareness about water safety and Coast Guard work in the community to keep everyone safe.
