Emma Doherty has been called up to join the Republic of Ireland senior squad for a training camp in Abbotstown, a reward for a fantastic 2022 so far.
The Buncrana native has been in superb form for her Sligo Rovers side in her debut Women’s National League season, scoring nine times in 17 league games for the Bit O’Red.
The 18-year-old also made her Republic of Ireland Under-19 debut, scoring twice against Czech Republic in round 2 of Euro Under-19 qualification.
Doherty has been called up to train with Vera Pauw’s side along with Athlone Town pair Jessica Hennessy and Emily Corbett, and Abbi Brophy of Bohemians.
