There have been 272 Covid-19 deaths in Donegal up to July 23rd, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre reports.
The death rate in Ireland is at its lowest since July 2021.
The current incidence rate in Donegal is 102.4 per 100,000 from PCR tests only. A total of 163 new cases were confirmed last week.
The CSO has also released figures today dating from March 2020 and February 2022, showing that 59% of deaths from COVID-19 occurred in general and orthopaedic hospitals, with 29% of deaths occurring in nursing homes. There were 182 Covid-19 confirmed deaths in this period, 75 of those were aged 85 and over.
The analysis focuses on deaths where COVID-19 was found to have been the underlying cause of death.
