Gardaí are investigating a serious assault which occurred in Castlefin at the weekend.
The incident occurred on Friday 29th July at approximately 18:15pm.
One man, in his 20s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital where he was treated for ‘serious injuries.’
A man, who is in his 40s, was arrested and later charged before a Special Sitting of Sligo District Court on Sunday.
“As this matter is now before the courts An Garda Síochána will not be providing any further comment,” a spokesperson for the Garda Press Office said.
Separately, Gardaí are investigating a stabbing which took place in the town on Sunday, July 24.
