Finn Vale Suffolks triumphed at the Suffolk Sheep Society, South of Ireland, Premier Show and Sale on Monday the 25th of July.
The Killygordon-based breeders secured top prizes at the show in Blessington, including; First Prize open ram lamb, First Prize group of three, male Champion and Supreme Overall Champion.
The group of three were then later sold on for €2,600, €2,600 and €2,800 and their average for selling five sheep was €2100.
“It is a big thing to win three prizes and Supreme Champion all in one day,” said Andrew Lucas, owner of Finn Vale Suffolks.
“We are absolutely delighted with the success.”
In 1990, Andrew’s father established the pedigree Suffolk flock from females they purchased in Northern Ireland at in-lamb sales and rams in Scotland and overseas.
The family often attends sheep sales throughout Europe and bred ewes to €3,000 at the Black Beauty Sale in December 2021, the highest that they ever achieved.
