The Cloughaneely area was a vision of colour yesterday for Bród na Gaeltachta – the first Pride festival in a Donegal Gaeltacht.
The vibrant parade was part of a programme of events celebrating the LGBTQI+ community. The week-long festival also had drama, poetry, film, art and language workshops for Irish and non-Irish speakers.
Organised by Pól Penrose, the aim of the event was to bring the Pride festivities to rural Donegal, rather than people having to travel to cities.
The event comes just one month after Donegal’s first ever Pride parade was held in Buncrana.
