Donegal County Council officially opened Buncrana’s beautiful Swan Park today.
Work was completed recently on the multi-million euro refurbishment of the popular park.
Following extensive flood damage to the park in 2017, Donegal County Council began an extension €2.3m project to restore and upgrade it.
Local Sinn Fein Councillor, Jack Murray, said the facility will stand for generations as a testament to the resilience of the people of Buncrana.
“Fair play to everyone who rallied together to get this project over the line,” Cllr Murray said.
“Particular mention for Eamonn Mahon, George McDermott and Seamus Hopkins whose incredible work brought it to where it is now.
“Fair play to everyone who worked on the project in any way, those who helped design it and those who contributed the fantastic artwork.
“It truly is a special place that’ll be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike for many years to come.
“I’m sure Harry Swan would be proud with how it turned out. A wee bit of paradise”
