Declan Bonner has informed his players of his decision to step down as Donegal manager this evening, according to reports.
Bonner will address the media tonight after the county meeting in Convoy.
There has been plenty of speculation about whether Bonner would be staying on as manager, in which he still has a year remaining on his contract.
Bonner has not spoken to the media since before the game at Clones in the All-Ireland SFC second round qualifier, in which Armagh won 3-17 to 0-16.
When contacted for clarification this afternoon, the Donegal County Board said it had nothing to add beyond the fact that there would be a meeting later tonight.
Bonner took over for his second spell in charge in 2017 and led Donegal to back-to-back Ulster titles in 2018 and 2019, but they haven’t won an Ulster title in three years now, having lost the 2020 final to Cavan and the 2022 final to Derry.
