And the wariors of the Irish rugby squad certainly couldn’t have claimed two famous victories over the All Blacks in New Zealand without the proper food.
Step forward Fintown man Maurice Mc Geehan.
Maurice is the head chef for Johnny Sexton and the lads as they made sporting history for Ireland over the weekend.
Maurice savoured the moment saying “So proud of all the lads for another phenomenal match and making history by winning the series in New Zealand.
“Well done to all the coaches and the back room team, definitely the highlight of my career to have been part of this history-making squad.”
The moment wasn’t lost on his former club Naomh Conaill who were quick to congratulate Maurice.
A spokesperson said Massive congratulations to former club player Maurice McGeehan who is head chef to the Irish rugby team, after their historic series win v the All blacks in New Zealand this morning.
“Maurice’s two boys play for our underage teams & great to see our own doing so well on the international stage. You obviously had them well fueled for this victory. Well done again Maurice.”
