Letterkenny based art group, The A-rt Team, are seeking design ideas for a Mica-themed mural in the town centre.
The grassroots community arts group has decided to commission an urban art piece dedicated to the crisis.
Artists who are interested in creating a design are being encouraged to get involved with the project.
Secretary of the The A-rt Team, Finnian O’Donnell said: “In the aftermath of the Government rejection of 100% redress, the group committee gathered and decided to help out and assist the MICA campaigners by starting the process of having a mural depicting the MICA crisis.
“We are now calling on all local artists to submit their ideas for a MICA mural. Each artist can contact our Facebook page and send their images. Our Committee will then select one image and have a professional artist create the mural.
“It will be in a location somewhere in Letterkenny, preferably on Main Street so everyone can see it. The winner can also have a chance to work with the artist and receive hands-on training.”
The group intends for the art to give Mica victims a “small boost” by highlighting that their campaign is “far from finished.”
