Golf: Caroline McGee wins Lady Captain’s Prize in Cloughaneely

Ladies Results; Cloughaneely Golf Club had a very successful last weekend for Donna Gallagher’s 2022 Lady Captain’s Prize. A great turnout by all Members. Congratulations to Lady Member Caroline McGee on winning the Main prize last Saturday with a fantastic score of 43pts narrowly with very high scoring on the day. 1st Caroline McGee (57) 43pts; 2nd Roisin McGee (43) 42pts; 3rd Anne Collum (44) 41pts; 4th Catherine McGinley (25) 39pts; Front 9 Breda McGeady 21pts; Back 9 June Nelson 23pts; Nearest the pin on 11th Sadie-Marie Curran; Nearest the pin on 16th Sandra McGinley; Longest drive Catherine McGinley. The Ladies enjoyed a meal after the golf in Batch Donegal in Falcarragh. The presentation on Saturday night was followed by refreshments in the clubhouse. The next major in the Club is Stephen McCafferty’s Captain’s Prize on Saturday 23rd July with Ladies playing on Thursday 21sy July. Gents Results; ongratulations to Martin Giles on winning the 9 Hole Gents Prize last Saturday. We had a great turnout last Sunday for the Golfer of the Year Competition. 1st: Tom Herrity (27) 45pts; 2nd: Sean MacIntyre (14) 42pts; CAT 1: Cian McGarvey (3) 29pts gross; CAT 2: Brian McGee (19) 36pts; CAT 3: Jordan McGrath (30) 37pts BOT. Well done Tom great shooting a man to watch out for Captain’s Prize later this month! Thank you to Ciaran Gallagher Errigal Motors for his kind sponsorship. We had a good turnout for the Lady Captain’s 9 Hole Competition. 1st: Martin Giles (23) 23pts; 2nd: Joe McGarvey GAA (18) 20pts; 3rd: Philip McGeady (12) 19pts. The 9 Hole Scramble on Friday 1st July; 1st: Fergal Kilfeather, Stephen McCafferty & Donna Gallagher; 2nd: Dermot McCallion, Joe Doherty & Anne Collum. We have a number of inter-club matches this week best of luck to all teams and players representing our club.
