Six Donegal Clubs saw a total of 17 different athletes medal at the Irish Life Health National Juvenile Track and Field Championships at Tullamore on Sunday.
Tír Chonaill’s Lucy McGlynn added to her success in recent weeks after she won the U19 100m Hurdles, finishing in 14.38 seconds.
Ethan Dewhirst was third in the Boys U16 100m Hurdles, with a time of 15.68.
Alannah Anderson won gold in the U15 discus, throwing to 27.80m, while the club had a 1-2 in the Boys U18 discus.
Kacper Adamski won the event with a 39.47, while Alex Anderson was 2nd, throwing out to 38.84m.
Lexi Campbell was runner-up in the Girls U18 100m Hurdles with a time of 16.43.
Finn Valley AC athlete Amy Timoney picked up gold in the Girls U16 80m, winning in 11.85.
The club were also delighted with their Saturday wins in the 4x100m relay events at Boys U10 and Girls U9 level.
Evan Patton (Ballybofey), Shea Irwin (Crossroads, Killygordon), Matthew Lynch (Stranorlar), Adam Breen (Convoy) and Sub: Oran Gallagher (Crossroads Killygordon) were the boys who stormed home to take the gold medal, having already been crowned Ulster champions this year too.
Cranford AC won two track events, with Caolan McFadden winning the boys U16 800m in 2:01.50, while Oisin Kelly won the U19 800m, finishing in 1:55.03.
There was a silver in the Girls U16 long jump as Amy Cullen leaped to 5.20m with Maebh O’Connor of Dundalk St. Gerards A.C. winning with a best of 5.52m and Aoife Giles took the bronze in the U19 shot put (4kg).
Lifford-Strabane AC’s Adrienne Gallen took silver in the same event, throwing out to 9.82m.
Caoimhe Gallen was the winner of the Girls U16 Shot Put (3kg) with a best of 12.25m, while Ashleigh McArdle was also second in the U17 Javelin, throwing a best of 32.62m
Rosses AC’s Eva Logue was the bronze medallist in the U14 High Jump, clearing 1.45m
Lettekenny AC’s Emma Bonar was second in the Girls U15 800m, finishing in 2:16.32, while Daragh Naughton was also the silver medalist in the Boys U14 800m, with a time of 2:11.40.
