Donegal’s place in the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland Senior Championship was confirmed after Cork won 2-10 to 1-5 win against Waterford yesterday.
Donegal finished second in the group behind Cork, and were subsequently paired against Dublin in the All-Ireland quarter-finals.
Waterford were leading at half-time but didn’t score in the second half, while Maxi Curran’s side needed a Cork win to advance.
Donegal will now face Dublin in the last eight of the competition.
The two sides faced each other in the Division 1 semi-final, in which Donegal were victorious after a brilliant comeback which saw them score two goals with three minutes to go to win by a point.
Donegal will face Dublin in the last eight, and the winner of that tie facing the winner of the game between Galway and All-Ireland champions Meath.
