The State Examinations Commission (SEC) plans to issue the Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied examination results to students on Friday the 2nd of September.
Around 130,000 students sat the exams this year, an increase of 7,000 since the last time a full set of examinations was sat in 2019.
A number of factors have led to a delay in announcing the date for the examination results.
The lack in demand for examiners is one of the primary reasons and another one being the lack of clarity regarding how many students will be sitting a set of deferred exams next months, the marking of which will require additional time.
Results will be issued to students through the Candidate Self Service Portal, available at www.gov.ie/leavingcertificate. The SEC will send an e-mail to students about the planned date for the issue of examination results.
