A great turn-out and hopefully some fine weather will welcome runners and walkers taking part in the upcoming Glenswilly GAA 5K.
This is the tenth anniversary of the event in a year which also marks the 40 anniversary of the club.
Once again a famous Glen welcome will greet those taking part with the famous Glenswilly refreshments sure to help participants recover from the race itself.
Once again all proceeds from the event will go directly to the promotion and development of underage teams at the club.
Chairperson of the club Patsy Gallagher thanked all those who have put so much work into organising the event and hoped for a great turn-out.
“A lot of club members have put a lot of work into organising the 5k over the years and this year is no exception.
“The famous Glenswilly refreshments will be there for everyone after the race and all we need now is a bit of fine weather to set things off.
“We are inviting all our friends from all other GAA clubs in the county to come and support the event and help us to continue to support the youth of the area.
“The youth are the future of the GAA across Donegal and here in Glenswilly that is no different,” he said.
Entry fee for the race is €10 for adults, €5 for children and €20 for a family.
Registration for the chipped race will take place the evening before the race, Monday June 20th from 7 until 8pm and from 6pm on the evening of the race.
The race takes place at 7.30pm and the main sponsor once again is Michael Murphy Sport.
There will be spot prizes galore with the winner of the men’s race taking away the Danny McDaid Perpetual Cup while the winner of the women’s race will take the Maura O’Boyle Memorial Trophy.
See you all at the starting line on Tuesday, June 21st at 7.30pm.
