John Kelly has set a new personal best and Ulster record in the shot put as he competed in Norway on Wednesday evening.
The Finn Valley AC athlete threw a massive 19.57 metres at the Trond Mohn Games in Norway to win the bronze medal.
The St Johnston man has added a whopping 74 centimetres to his own record, and is comfortably the fourth on the all-time list for best throws by an Irishman.
Kelly’s recently set his newest personal best in March with the 18.83m he recorded at the European Athletics Throwing Cup in Leiria, Portugal.
