Donegal County Council has decided to fully open Buncrana’s beautiful Swan Park for the Bank Holiday weekend.
Though the work is not 100% complete, local Councillor, Jack Murray, welcomed the move.
“With the expected good weather and influx of visitors coming to the town, it makes sense that it is open to be enjoyed by all,” he said.
“Fair play to Eamon Mahon and all local staff for getting us to this point – with the park bigger and better than before.”
Work is almost complete on the multi-million euro refurbishment of the popular park.
Following extensive flood damage to the park in 2017, Donegal County Council began an extension €2.3m project to restore the park and to upgrade it.
The works are almost complete with an official opening expected this Summer.
